FRESNO, CA — The busiest year in Fresno Yosemite International's history is about to turn into a hiring line. On Thursday, October 1, the airport and the City of Fresno host an aviation job fair at the terminal off Clinton and Peach, and the recruiter list runs from ramp crews and ticket counters to cargo, rental cars, concessions and the California Highway Patrol.

Thursday, October 1, 2026, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at 5175 E. Clinton Way. Ten-plus employers, one afternoon, and a terminal that just finished the largest expansion in its history.

The published roster tells you which table to walk to. Menzies Aviation and Unifi Aviation are the ground handlers: ramp, baggage, cabin cleaning, gate and ticket agents. Atlantic Aviation runs the corporate side, where line service techs fuel and marshal business jets. Fenix Logistics is the cargo end, and FAT moved more than 20 million pounds of freight last year. Hudson and SSP America staff the shops and food counters past security; Enterprise Mobility covers rental cars. The City of Fresno brings its Airports Department and Personnel Services, and the California Highway Patrol handles public safety.

Last fall's edition put more than 100 positions on the table, with some employers interviewing on the spot. No 2026 headcount has been published, so treat that as the pattern, not a promise.

Why the Airport Is Hiring

Fresno's airport had a record 2025: 2,752,392 passengers, up about 3 percent, with travel to Mexico climbing 4 percent to 433,636 people. The FATforward expansion — the largest capital program in the airport's history, including a new International Arrivals Facility and expanded concessions — finished construction in December. More square footage means more people to work it, and that is the math behind a fair the airport has run every fall since 2022.

⚠️ Read This Before You Drive Out

As of publication the airport had not posted its own 2026 announcement. The date, the 3-to-6 window and the employer list come from the event listing published by Fresno State's Career Development Center, which names the airport and the City as hosts. Past editions were free with validated parking and ran on the fourth-floor rooftop of the parking garage, but neither the cost nor the room has been published for this year.

Airport work also is not ordinary retail work. Most jobs inside the secured area require a fingerprint-based criminal history check and an airport-issued badge before you start, and some ground handling roles add a drug screen and a driving record check. That disqualifies few people, but it does push your start date out weeks rather than days. Ask each recruiter about their badging timeline.

California's statewide minimum is $16.90 an hour right now, rising to $17.40 on January 1, 2027. Neither the City of Fresno nor Fresno County has its own ordinance, so the state rate is the floor metro-wide — and the address where the work is performed sets it, not where you live or where the company is headquartered. That is a floor, not a going rate: ground handling, fueling and cargo typically pay above it because the shifts are early, late and outdoors. No employer here has published a range for October, so ask the number at the table.

Know your availability in writing. Ramp and cargo shifts start before dawn and run past the last departure, and that is usually the first question.
